A motivational note from Octane Fitness team member and certified group fitness leader:

Excuses, excuses… It’s that time of year that you find yourself making excuse after excuse on why you missed your workout. Why do you do that to yourself? You worked too hard this year to let the holiday season stand in your way of maintaining your healthy lifestyle. So you are busy. You have extra Christmas shopping to do and holiday parties to attend, it’s the nature of the beast. But hear me when I say, “Stop making excuses!” Excuses are useless. Results are priceless. If you are determined enough, you will find a way to fit that workout in. So don’t Give Up! Turn your ‘can’t’ into ‘can’ and make time for some interval training; it will help maximize your results without eating too much of your holiday time. Stay focused and resolve your excuses.

Exercise Tips
Helpful descriptions of some of the more difficult or lesser-known exercises listed above.

  • Pliat Squat Hold with Isometric Chest Press – Get into a wide stance with feet pointing outward and lower into deep squat. Hold this position. Then, with hands starting at chest level, press hands together as hard as you can. Hold for duration of circuit.
