I've never had a machine target the upper leg areas as this one does. I do have one concern, however. There is a prominent "chirping" noise that seems to be coming from the right side of the machine. I haven't yet registered the elliptical, and I would like to know if this sound might be part of breaking in the machine or is it something that should be inspected? Any help would be appreciated. I intend on calling the dealer tomorrow.
After 12 months of regular use, I can conclude that this is a terrifically well thought out, designed, engineered and built machine to allow an individual to achieve one's fitness goals to the highest degree possible. The variety of functions and through the use of a connected ipad using Octane's SmartLink program a person can look forward to working through a course of exercises however long without losing interest - it simply is not possible to develop a flagging interest because of a boring and/or repetitive routine. After a year I still look forward to trying a new combination of exercises into my routine. I exercise 4 days per week for 1 - 1/4 -1/2 hours each time. I have lost weight without changing my diet significantly and my cardiologist recently concluded I have a heart rate of a younger athlete - I am 74 years old and still feel like that lean/mean fighting machine when I was a young infantryman!
I should mention that while I have added some extra strength training with both bands and free weights the XR6Xi through its Boost program does an excellent job in building beyond cardio substantial strength in both back, chest as well as glutes.
I can't tout enough the benefits of this fantastic exercise machine!
The sales associate asked...What stops you from working out? My answer was , so you are talking about my knee and hip pain. and he walked me to the seated elliptical it is almost silent very stable comfortable for larger users. I never thought I would have chosen something that my brother is looking to purchase. The seat is sort of a perch allowing for full motion for the leg, Got my machine from 2nd wind.
I've had my xR6i for about two weeks and, for the most part, love it. It is quiet, smooth and comfortable. The highly adjustable seat and back is especially important to me since I have a very bad back. I always use my iPad with the equipment so I avoid what I consider a MAJOR drawback to the xR6. The built-in display is extremely faint when I am seated and exercising. However, if I stop and stand up so I am viewing the display from above it is bright and sharp. I am very surprised that the maker of such an outstanding piece of equipment can overlook this serious problem. If anyone has a solution, please let me know. In the meantime, I am more than happy to continue to use my iPad.
Love the machine. Only problem can't sink to
My I pad. Went over issue many times. Out of warranty and still no luck
