Octane Fitness Transforms Elliptical Cross Training With Interactive Ergonomics

Octane Fitness Transforms Elliptical Cross Training With Interactive Ergonomics
October 14, 2004

ANDOVER , Minn. – To build the ultimate workout that delivers maximum effectiveness, Octane Fitness has revolutionized elliptical cross training with its new ergonomically advanced and technologically superior Q45 and Q45e models for home use.

"These premium machines are in a league of their own with unbeatable ergonomics and electronics," said Tim Porth, vice president of research and development and marketing for Octane Fitness. "The only ellipticals today with SmartStride interactive ergonomics, they provide unparalleled workouts with breakthroughs that capitalize on and maximize the benefits of cross training."

Intelligent Adjustable Ergonomics

The Q45/Q45e cross trainers offer several valuable customization options, including an electronically adjustable stride length from 18 inches to 23 inches at the touch of a button.

Even more, exclusive to Octane Fitness is the patent-pending SmartStride, designed after extensive biomechanics research and motion analysis to best replicate movements like walking, jogging, running and moving backwards. SmartStride monitors an exerciser’s pace and direction and automatically adjusts the stride length accordingly to custom fit different activities and individual exerciser heights, leg lengths, flexibility and preferences.

Octane Fitness also has perfected upper-body movement with its proprietary, distinctive MultiGrip handlebars that offer contoured grips and various biomechanically correct positions. Unlike any others, the MultiGrip handlebars comfortably accommodate exercisers of all sizes; recruit numerous upper-body muscles to improve strength; provide valuable variety and significantly enhance total-body movement.

Additional ergonomic advantages—based on Octane’s award-winning Q35/Q35e models—include the exclusive Body-Mapping Ergonomics and the patented QuadLink drive that afford a low step-up height, the closest pedal spacing in the industry at two inches for optimal comfort, and articulating pedals that support the feet throughout the stride.

Exceptional Electronics

Unique to the Q45/Q45e models are five powerful variable stride workouts that combine stride length, direction and resistance to capitalize on cross training. The innovative ArmBlaster, for instance, uniquely boosts cardiovascular and muscular endurance by integrating sets of 10 intense resistance repetitions for the upper body every three minutes.

Furthermore, the company’s upgraded HeartLogic Intelligence on the Q45e offers five interactive heart rate workouts that use steady resistance and interval training for the most effective, efficient exercise. Even more, the unique X-Mode+ prompts exercisers to push or pull with their arms, squat, go in reverse and more—like a virtual personal trainer, and the GluteKicker targets the glutes, hips and thighs with intense lower-body movements.

All Octane Fitness machines also include additional beneficial features like My QuickStart that lets users create personalized programs that can be recalled by pressing a single button and DedicatedLogic programming that enables changes to the program, time or resistance "on the fly" at any time during workouts.

Above and Beyond

For optimum durability and safety, Octane Fitness cross trainers feature welded steel frames and fully enclosed front drive mechanisms, plus virtually maintenance-free, whisper quiet operation. Boasting a lifetime warranty on the frame, three years on parts and one year on labor, the Q45/Q45e models are sold at specialty fitness retail stores nationwide with manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) of $3,199 and $3,599, respectively.
