Interval Training

Octane offers you several ways to utilize interval training to help your clients benefit improve cardiovascular conditioning, overall stamina, caloric expenditure and muscular endurance.

Put the Interval programs to work for your clients:

  • Use the Custom Interval program to create up to six alternating intervals of any duration and resistance level for personalized, progressive challenges, including anaerobic periods for lactate threshold training. You dictate all work and recovery ratios, such as 1:1, 1:2 or 3:1.
  • Use heart rate as a gauge of intensity with the Heart Rate Custom Interval program, which lets you prescribe as many as six alternating intervals of any duration and target heart rate levels. You can build up intensity gradually, or push into anaerobic zones using intervals. Clients simply wear a chest strap or grip the digital contact sensors for wireless heart rate monitoring.
  • In any interval program, if your client is not responding as expected, you can easily adjust the resistance level or target heart rate on the fly to elicit a different response.
