Testimonials

"I am a big believer in cross training for my team.  I have seen first hand the negative impact too much running can have on a runner - whether a casual or elite runner.  My athletes have used different forms of cross training for years with great success.  The Zero Runner replicates a running motion better than any cross training device I have seen.  Run specific cross training greatly improves my athletes ability to stay healthy and compete."

"The Zero Runner has become a fun and helpful addition to my training. By mostly off-road running and supplementing with Zero Runner sessions, my foot and the rest of my body stay healthy. In fact, I have found the added benefit of the Zero Running is to actually mobilize my ankle and strengthen my running mechanics. Its action is probably as close to running as you can get."

"The Zero Runner is an amazing tool for runners.  Whether you are coming back from an injury, or wanting to add cardiovascular fitness without pounding your legs, it is the perfect workout to complement running.  I have tried endless different types of exercise equipment over the years, but the Zero Runner is the closest to actual running that I have ever experienced.  It is now a part of my routine and it is helping me get stronger and faster without adding unnecessary stress to my legs."

Kara Goucher

“I recommend the Zero Runner to the runners I coach to maximize their training effort. It’s the perfect option for the latter stages of a long run when a runner’s form has diminished and they are at greater risk of injury. It’s also ideal for postrace recovery workouts, allowing for quicker recovery without risk of injury”

Rick Muhr

“The Zero Runner lets me train harder without injury. I use it for recovery runs and for extra cardio when my legs are fatigued from the impact of running. Without the impact that causes fatigue and compromises to proper running form, the Zero Runner helps make every run a great one.”

The fitness market has responded to demand from a population of people past their competitive primes. More products are popping up to help older or oft-injured athletes make workouts more comfortable, safer—or simply more fun.  The Wall Street Journal conducted an unscientific poll of older and injured athletes, specialty stores and fitness professionals to select a handful of popular or promising exercise products for this crowd. Athletes say the tools help alleviate the aches and pains of exercise that commonly start as early as their late 30s. The Zero Runner, a machine that made its debut this year, has extra ...Read More

My wife surprised me and ordered me a Zero Runner for Father's Day.  I was excited and very surprised.  She went and picked it up in Aurora at 2nd Wind Exercise.  I put it together yesterday and used it today.  I wasn't sure ahead of time how far I was gonna go; my body felt great no pain in my knee (and still have no pain) so I kept going.  13.1 was what I did for my inaugural Zero Runner workout.  13.1 in 1:41 - I was tickled.  I know after one session with the Zero Runner it's going to ...Read More

I just got off my in-home Octane elliptical and I am rejoicing with my personal best: 65 minutes, 10.1 miles and 672 calories. This thing is incredible! I have lost 88 pounds since having my son in March 2010. I can credit my beloved Octane Fitness elliptical machine for 60 of those pounds and a healthy diet for the remainder. I feel great, energized and happier then I have felt in years mostly due to this wonderful elliptical. Thank you Octane!

I just wanted to let you know how much our family is enjoying our new Octane Q37 elliptical. Jack, 7 years-old, likes that he can measure how fast he can run. Ruthie, our 8 year-old, thinks it's a pretty good workout and likes to "move" for about 3 Disney Channel shows. She seems to think she is moving at 30 mph, but we all know otherwise :) Hannah, 11 years-old thinks the screen is great. She likes that the screen "shows everything all the time." Our tired, old treadmill cycled through the time/distance/calories. Apparently, that really bothered her. We appreciate ...Read More

It seems they just added a row of your elliptical machines to the Lifetime Fitness in Arlington Heights I go to on a daily basis. My wife and I purchased an Octane Q47e this past January from G&G Fitness here in upstate NY. I've wanted to add an elliptical trainer to my home gym for quite a while. I had a personal training business in the 90's, so quality, smoothness, and durability were always important features when selecting cardio machines such as a treadmill and stationary bike, as well as resistance training equipment (all of which are still keeping us healthy). After taking a ride on some of the other major competitors, we chose the Octane. Why? Quiet, club-like smoothness, a comparatively small footprint, and ...Read More

I just wanted to say that my wife and I bought a Q37 two years ago, and it was a great investment. We haven't had any problem with the machine, its like its still brand new and we use it all the time. These machines hold up great, while other machines break down and wear out. I see why our fitness dealer called to ask if we wanted to trade it in on the new model. The resale value must be quite good on such an awesome machine. Keep up the good work.

Once again Octane has illustrated that they are second to none in their customer care and unsurpassed continued support! I have never been associated with a product and a company that is so quick to help and provide follow-through that is unprecedented in today’s sell it/forget it world! I've had my Q47ce for just under a year now and simply couldn't be happier. I use it between 4-6 times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes (alternating between Arm Blaster, X-Mode, and others). I have lost more than 25lbs and have significantly increased both strength and endurance with this machine. At my age, movement in my legs and flexibility are important to me. I’ve had four hip replacements – both hips two times. I exercise every day, and when I got on the Octane xRide I could immediately feel the difference. The ability to go forward and backward is great, and the upper-body motion really helps my shoulders, especially because I have a torn rotator cuff. The xRide is one heck of a workout, and after using it, I can hit the golf ball again. This is the best piece of fitness equipment I have used – it is first-rate.

I travel extensively and have "had the opportunity" to train on lots of different cardio equipment. After trying so many options, I was all set to buy a Life Fitness elliptical. I went to Fitness Resource and tried it out with my wife and I saw this weird looking elliptical next to it and kind of blew it off. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about Octane's equipment. I have been using an elliptical at my gym for years now, but this one is the best I have ever been on. This is a great product for people who have weak, chronic back problems. I had a treadmill and could not run and felt beat up after walking on it. With this elliptical I can run as fast as I can with no back pain afterwards! I wish I would have gotten this earlier. I purchased the Q47ce to help get back into shape and I can't believe how great it is to use. I own a treadmill and get very bored on it quickly. Thus making it hard to stick to my workouts. But the Q47ce offers so many exercises that I constantly change my routine and look forward to using it. I get a great full body workout and enjoy doing it! Because I suffer from deteriorating disks, my doctor insisted that I give up running. For nearly three months, I've been unable to workout. Exercising on a treadmill bothered my back. I purchased an Octane elliptical and am thrilled with it. I had tried out other brands of ellipticals, but none compare with Octane's comfortable feel. The Octane elliptical is the ideal exercise product for couples, families or athletes. Everyone's got a different stride and you want this to work especially for you. So you can actually adjust the stride and customize to address your unique needs. I love the MultiGrip handlebars that are so comfortable I can get a real total-body experience. But the bottom line is that I can burn more calories in less time than if I used other equipment. If being too time-starved to get in a workout is the problem, then the Octane elliptical is the solution.

We wanted to take a minute to tell you how happy we are with the Octane Fitness elliptical. We have the Q37e, and it is simply the BEST elliptical trainer that we have ever tried! We travel all over the world, so we have exercised in hundreds of health clubs, and therefore we have tried dozens of brands of elliptical trainers. We can say without question that the Octane Fitness elliptical is the most effective workout we have ever had on this type of machine. The action is smooth, without any unnecessary bouncing. We love the XMode which functions like ...Read More

The Octane elliptical is an excellent training tool. It provides cardio conditioning to boost my endurance without subjecting my body to a high-impact beating. Using intervals, I can easily replicate the quick tempo of tennis and keep my knees feeling good at the same time.

I have been using the Octane Elliptical for 4 years. This is a great machine. With all the different facilities I've worked out at I've got to use many different ellipticals. Octane is by far the best. I would recommend it for any fitness level. This product is the elite of its class. Thank you Octane for turning me onto your product.

After neck surgery in 1996 and back surgery in 2006, my doctor said I couldn’t run anymore for cardiovascular exercise. His recommendation was elliptical trainers, but the problem was I just didn’t get the same workout intensity. Once Octane ellipticals showed up at the Cooper Clinic that all changed—the other ellipticals just didn’t compare. I could finally get a serious workout again. I am now the proud owner of an Octane elliptical.

Another eye-catcher is the Octane LateralX...this is definitely the next big thing in cardio. A sweet option for the LateralX is the add-on of CROSS CiRCUIT, which is a popular option for clubs and personal trainers. The stands include PowerBlock's adjustable dumbbells that can adjust to several different weights, all in one compact unit.

We were taken with the LateralX, and it's now taking the add-killer-screen-technology route with the option to add the Netpulse-enabled touch-screen technology. Unlike other manufacturers' equipment, the Octane console offers split-screen capability so exercisers can simultaneously watch a show and view live workout stats.

Octane Pro3700 -- the pedals have a comfortable stride length, the handlebars' heart-rate sensors seem more accurate than others; and the three-speed fan is nice.

A major component to a successful relationship is how well the product holds up, and how fast you respond when you do have issues. This is where I was very impressed with Octane. They are the only manufacturer I know of who makes proactive customer service calls, and this has helped us avoid unnecessary breakdowns. I look forward to seeing Octane grow its floor space in all our TSI clubs.

We are particularly selective when choosing premium fitness equipment and Octane totally impressed us in terms of ergonomics, innovation and quality. Our franchisees and members appreciate Octane’s unique features, effective workouts and rock-solid durability. Members are able to get a terrific cardio workout, while toning and building strength as well.

Peter Taunton

The Octane elliptical is truly an amazing piece of equipment. What was missing from our franchises for years was the “true” natural runner, and we finally found it with Octane and their elliptical products. Our members would agree that they are cutting edge, sharp looking, durable and offer the greatest workouts. We, and our franchisees have had an amazing experience with the entire Octane staff. From ordering, to installation, to training and service Octane ranks highest on our list in all phases. Great people, great equipment, great service! Go Retro...GO OCTANE!

What makes a difference is the company, the people, the support, their ability to make change, be creative, and go the extra step. It’s not just about a product, it’s really about the people behind it and the people that drive it, Octane is definitely that company.

The Octane adjustable stride Pro4700 has proved to be very successful and has added variety to our cardio floors. Now the xRide, both lower body only and total body units, have been placed in several of our clubs, and has been very successful as well. Between all the Octane models we have, they have added a lot of variety to our preexisting offerings to our members.

Lori and I have been in the fitness industry since the early ‘90s and have been purchasing equipment on a yearly basis whether to replace older existing equipment or outfitting a new gym. Getting introduced to the Octane team has created nothing short of a wonderful relationship both professionally and personally. Our members’ response to the movement of the Octane ellipticals has validated our wise choice to have included Octane in all our facilities.

Jeremy & Lori Lowell

I am impressed with the quality and innovation of the Octane Fitness ellipticals and our members are routinely providing positive feedback on the Octane machines. The standing ellipticals and new xRide seated ellipticals have generated consistent enthusiasm and are constantly in use at my clubs. I look forward to an ongoing partnership with Octane and I’m excited to see Octane further advance this popular elliptical category.

You don't see many elliptical cross trainers designed as smart as these from Octane. It's clear that they did their homework—studying how the body moves naturally, then adding arm motion so everything is working together in a biomechanically correct manner. Ergonomically, it doesn't get much better than this—from the stride length, the close pedal spacing, the pedal articulation, and the smooth, fluid motion. Plus, unique programs like the X-Mode and the GluteKicker encourage cross training so you can keep getting results.

Ellipticals are one of the hottest products in our clubs. The main reason is our members can get a great cardiovascular workout without experiencing the joint-related pounding forces of some other forms of exercise. The result is members can exercise more frequently, in large part due to the reduced musculoskeletal jarring forces of elliptical exercisers.

I’ve been working with Octane for over five years. We have put the Octane product through our stringent Rand D process and they have grown from a newcomer to being the elliptical category leader in our clubs. We are very particular with the equipment we bring into our clubs and Octane is the winner according to members, trainers and our service techs. Service is truly what makes Octane rise above the competition, they have the best service record in the industry, even though it is rarely needed, but when a problem does arise they are there to fix the problem ...Read More

Treadmill testing at Runner's World headquarters is underway, with a wide range of machines being put through the paces for possible review in the November 2014 issue of the magazine. One of the machines we're looking at, the Zero Runner by Octane Fitness, isn't actually a treadmill at all—think of it like a mashup of an elliptical, bicycle, and treadmill. It provides a close approximation of running without the impacts you get from landing on a solid surface. There is a bit of a learning curve to it, however, so a group of editors met with Tim Porth, the company's ...Read More

Boston Marathon

Testimonials from the launch of the Zero Runner at the 2014 Boston Marathon.
The non-motorized elliptical-looking apparatus with individual foot pads allows you to accurately replicate a real running motion with no impact. It has greater stride length/range of motion than an elliptical and less impact than a treadmill. The most realistic running motion of any non-treadmill I've tried. While you can make a variety of movements, from an elliptical-like oval glide and an up-and-down stair step, the Zero lets you flow into a real running gait. That is due to a design that mimics the leg by placing pivot points at the knee and hips, and it includes a foot platform that ...Read More

A couple of months I had been told by my doctors that running was no longer something my body could tolerate. I had promised my wife if I was ever told by a doctor to stop running, I would. I never really thought that day would come, but since it has, I have to keep that promise. Today I’m happy to tell you that I am now running again, but I haven’t broken the promise I made to my wife! How is that possible? A couple of weeks ago I got a message from my friend Tonja at Health Styles ...Read More

After a summer on no use, we got on our Octane Eliptical recently and there was no power. I went to the retailer and we deceided to start simple. Bring in the power cord and see if it worked. Well, It didn't. With the product still under warranty they directed me to the Octane web site. On Oct. 6 I ordered a cord. Sounds simple, and to my surprise it was. Whereas most manufacturers make you jump through hoops to get any satisfaction, all Octane asked for was the serial number and information about me (name, address, etc.) Wednesday Oct. ...Read More
