Octane Named Leading Elliptical By Specialty Fitness Retailers
July 24, 2006
Octane Fitness, a leading brand of multiple award-winning, premium elliptical cross trainers, was recently named the top-selling brand of elliptical cross trainers by specialty fitness retailers in the fourth annual Specialty News (SNEWS) Fitness Retailer Survey. In the same survey last year, Octane tied for first place.
“For the second year, this recognition reinforces our mission and is an important honor from discriminating dealers who work with a broad range of fitness equipment suppliers in an incredibly competitive category,” said Dennis Lee, president of Octane Fitness.
SNEWS, a weekly trade publication that covers the fitness and outdoor industries, surveys retailers nationwide, ranging from small, single shops to large chains, as a way to reflect the performance of the fitness industry from the perspective of salespeople on the front lines. Participants identify their best and most difficult suppliers, the top selling products and leading brands.
Octane was named the top-selling elliptical among 25 suppliers listed this year.
According to survey analysts, “ Octane, an elliptical-only company and an oddity in this era of make-it-all, has reached the top of the heap. The competition is stiff, with everybody wanting a slice of the ever-growing elliptical pie, so it can be proud indeed.”
Octane Fitness is committed solely to the elliptical cross trainer category and currently offers six models for home use and five for commercial health clubs. The company is known for its unprecedented innovations, which are designed to perfect elliptical exercise and build better workouts, from the lower-body motion to the upper-body movement to the electronics.
Body-Mapping Ergonomics and the patented QuadLink drive deliver exact inertia and smooth, fluid motion to replicate movements like walking, jogging and running. Plus, Octane offers the closest spacing between the pedals in the industry—at 2”—to maximize comfort and virtually eliminate potential back stress.
On the Q45 Series, the unparalleled SmartStride interactive ergonomics automatically monitors an exerciser’s pace and direction and adjusts stride length accordingly for a superior motion.
For the upper-body, Octane innovates with its proprietary MultiGrip handlebars, which utilize a one-of-a-kind shape to enable exercisers to take advantage of a variety of handle positions—overhand, vertical, wide and low inside—that facilitate comfort, variety and effectiveness, in addition to custom-fitting each individual.
Workouts like the unmatched ArmBlaster fuel exercisers by combining cardiovascular and strength training in one routine using steady resistance levels punctuated by intense upper-body repetitions. X-Mode commands the ultimate in cross training by prompting users to push, pull, squat, go in reverse and more; and the rigorous GluteKicker targets the hips, glutes and thighs with intense lower-body movements.
Plus, HeartLogic Intelligence interactive, personalized routines, wireless telemetry and digital contact heart rate monitoring ensure effective and efficient workouts.
