Octane Fitness Refuels Commercial Sales team
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – February 20, 2012 – Based on ongoing increased demand for its commercial elliptical cross trainers, Octane Fitness, LLC (www.octanefitness.com) has promoted Dan Kennedy to Director of Commercial Direct Sales and added Kurt Parker as Commercial National Accounts Manager for the Southeast region.
An Octane Fitness veteran since 2006, Kennedy most recently was National Accounts Manager since 2008, and formerly was the East Coast Regional Sales Manager. In his new role, he leads sales, service and distribution in the United States and Canada for all commercial key accounts through direct sales. Kennedy also manages all seven national account representatives within the North American territory.
“With his combination of proven sales performance, strong customer relationships and a great positive coaching attitude, Dan is an excellent fit to manage the continued growth of our commercial key account sales,” said Ryan Simat, vice president of sales at Octane Fitness. “Dan’s leadership has been a big key to our success, and we are excited to utilize his strengths on a larger scale.”
With 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, Kennedy previously was a regional sales manager at Precor, Inc., Woodinville, Wash., and he also spent 10 years working for two fitness equipment dealers – ABC Sports and Fitness in upstate New York, and Advantage Sports and Fitness, Inc., Ithaca, NY.
Kurt Parker Joins Team
At Octane, Parker will manage national accounts in 12 states, and reports to Kennedy. Of his 28 years in the fitness industry, Parker spent 12 of them with Cybex International, Inc., Medway, Mass., lastly as the Director of Strategic Accounts from 2009 to 2011. In his time at Cybex, Parker also held titles of Director of National Accounts, Director of North American Sales and Territory Manager.
Parker served as the Director of Strategic Accounts at Star Trac, Irvine, Calif., from 2004-2006, where he helped to re-launch Flex Fitness as Star Trac’s new strength line. With personal trainer certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise and IDEA Health and Fitness Association, Parker also has worked at several health clubs.
