Octane Fitness Prevails Against Icon Health and Fitness in Patent Lawsuit
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – Nov. 28, 2012– The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, in a recently published opinion, unanimously affirmed a previous ruling by the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota rejecting a claim by Icon Health and Fitness, Inc., that several of Octane Fitness’s elliptical exercise machines infringed upon two of its patents – one directed to an electronics control system and the other directed to a stride adjust mechanical linkage.

Octane currently makes five traditional standing ellipticals for home workouts and four for commercial use; in addition to five seated ellipticals for home use and three for commercial; and the new LateralX lateral elliptical trainer.
