Consumer Guide Names Octane Fitness Elliptical Best Buy
April 12, 2005

ANDOVER, Minn. – Octane Fitness’ Q45e elliptical cross trainer, a new ergonomically advanced and technologically premium machine that is one of the hottest-selling today , recently earned a Best Buy designation from Consumer Guide, which reserves this top accolade for the highest quality and greatest value for a given amount of money.

"Earning awards for our products just reinforces our exclusive dedication to providing absolutely superior elliptical cross trainers, and we certainly are pleased with the continued recognition," said Dennis Lee, president of Octane Fitness.

Consumer Guide, which has been reviewing a multitude of products from cars to appliances for more than 30 years, posted its evaluation under "Fitness Equipment" at www.consumerguide.com. Beginning by noting Octane’s relentless quest for quality and breakthrough equipment, the reviewer says, "Octane Fitness has brought out products that are intended to be the brightest and the best;" and ultimately concludes with, "Octane is making its name through innovation."

Specifically noted are several unique, "mind- and body-boggling" features on the Q45e. The patent-pending SmartStride was designed after extensive biomechanics research and motion analysis to best replicate movements like walking, jogging, running and moving backwards. Unlike any technology today, SmartStride monitors an exerciser’s pace and direction and automatically adjusts the stride length accordingly.

Also highlighted are the proprietary, distinctive MultiGrip handlebars, which offer a low pivot point for a natural feel and contoured grips with various biomechanically correct positions. Consumer Guide recognized several performance routines as well, including five variable stride workouts and the invigorating ArmBlaster that challenges the upper body. Capturing additional interest were the popular X-Mode and GluteKicker that serve as virtual personal trainers to encourage effective cross training.

Taking note of the Q45e’s solid, 300-pound durability, the reviewer adds, "It’s as stable as a piece of fitness equipment can be."

The Q45e is the high-end elliptical cross trainer that Octane Fitness offers for home use and is available at specialty fitness retail stores nationwide with a manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) of $3,599. The company’s Q35e model previously was awarded a Consumer Guide Best Buy designation.
